- %c1 enables MNP5 negotiation for compression
- %c3 enables MNP5 and V.42bis negotiation for compression

- whatever is received as the last overwrites the previous settings.
- if there is an incompatible AT command anywhere in the string, the rest of
- the string will not alter/affect the modem settings. Some modems, upon
- detecting a syntax error or unimplemented command will refuse the whole
- string. be aware of it when experimenting with settings and try them when
- using a terminal package of any kind, that all of it is accepted.
-
- Windows95 is as good in communications as the hardware manufacturers
- cooperating with Microsoft on compatibility issues. It's not perfect.
